| Note | Catarina, foi a paixão do meu irmão José Maria. Bonita e atraente, morena esguia e de boa altura. Seu fraco era o cigarro, e como fumava! Foi a minha parceira nas capinas dos carneiros de fumo, com aquelas leiras compridas, com ruas muito estreitas e que só podiam ser capinadas com chuva ou dias nublados. Trabalhávamos também nos andaimes, onde se dependurava o fumo depois de colhido. Sempre houve uma grande amizade entre nós Quando se casou com o Pedro Virgilino, eu já morava em São Lourenço.
